Everest Base Camp: Fri, 17 Dec - Mon, 3 Jan 2011
Hi,
Just wanted to see if anyone going on this trip was checking out the forums. Myself and my friend Christina will both be going and we wanted to see who we would be spending our Christmas and New Year with! Hope to hear back from some of you soon. ~ Sarah

Hi Sarah and Christina. I'll be on the Everest trip starting on the 17th Dec. Hope your looking forward to it as much as I am! You got all your kit sorted? Ross
Hi Ross - good to hear from you! We are both very excited, but a little worried we aren't training enough for it!
I have barely got any kit at all yet, hope to get a lot of it this weekend in Bath. Down sleeping bag I will be buying in Kathmandu.
What about yourself? How is training going? Pack list going? Any tips etc?
Hi,
I'm sure you will be fine with the trekking. I can't see the pace being quick, well I hope not! I've not got much kit myself. I'll be taking the basics - shirts, trousers etc - but will be buying sleeping bag and down jacket in Kathmandu. I'm travelling round India after the trek so don't want to take too much.
I've not done much hiking really. I'm hoping my body should get used to it! It's the high altitude what will be the hardest but body should acclimatise quickly, fingers crossed.
Just want to say hi as I will be joining the trip on the 17th and it would be nice to know something about the other adventurers!?!
Hope to see you all at the airport!? we might be lucky and sit all together and get to know each other better.
Saheb
Hi, well we know there are at least four of us on the trip at least!
Have you received your packs now? We are flying out of Heathrow on Friday evening at 9 something on Gulf Air. Are you guys on that flight?
Otherwise, still feel like I've got tons to get! The colder it gets here, the more I worry about how cold I'll be out there!
Hope the packing and preparations are going well for you too?
I've received my pack during the weekend and I am flying from Heathrow T4 on Friday eve about 9 on Jet Airways?! I don't know why we all have not been booked on the same flight?!
I've started packing and I don't know how I'm going to fit all my stuff in the rucksack!!!! With regard to preparation I'm still going down to our local pub for burger and beer deal.hehe
Well, we've got only a week or so left, so not too worried!!
