Hi Sally
Yes I'm on the Bedouin Trails departing 23 October.

Hi Sally
Have no fear, I certainly am not fiendishly fit. Was dog sitting for a fortnight, and rather breathless on inclines ... I keep on reminding myself that it is a holiday!!! Haven't been to Jordan before but like yourself did check out the temps this week. Bit apprehensive myself as haven't done a proper trekking trip before. I thought I would definitely pack blister plasters, muscle rub and pain relief. Was recommended 1000 mile socks with double layer to avoid rubbing in the boots, I've never used walking poles, so am going to forgo those. Can you think of anything? Its just round the corner, but still a lot to organise, think I'll take a sleeping bag incase the bedding is not overly comfortable as read somewhere it can be scratchy. Hopefully you are more organised than me.
Will be good to see you soon

Hi Lorraine
Good to 'meet' you and hope to see you soon. Are you fiendishly fit ? I have a horror of dicovering that everyone else jogs up mountains before breakfast ? I can hardly wait-only a few days to go now ... and the forecast looks fab with Amman around 30 degrees. Have you been to Jordan before ? Any advice on things you think we should definitely take ?
XCheers

Hiyah
Am not at all organised but hope this will kick in as we get ever closer. Al and I did the Inca Trail year before last and survived that so figure we will hopefully be OK-naturally led from the rear then and have steadily lost fitness since. Jane the third of us has recently begun a relationship with a pyrenean mountain guide and hopes to absorb fitness by osmosis or similar. Defo all anti-blister stuff you can carry will not go amiss. I haven't done poles in the past but then in Peru they gave us a stick each and I did find it hugely useful especially coming down so was going to invest in a pole if I get time and opportunity. Agree on the sleeping bag this sounds good. Think it might get quite chilly at night too.
Counting the days now ...
Cheers
S.
