It took 3 days ,1 photo and £35 to get my visa.Must be easier than getting on arrival.
What do you mean about duty free?
We live in Hessle, East Riding of Yorks. What about you?
We will meet up at Heathrow can't wait.I'm sure you'll be fine as a solo traveller. Braver than me!!!!!

Hi Kirsty
Which vaccinations have you had? We hope we've had enough.Chose not to have Rabies or Japanese Encephalitis however we are taking Chloroquine & Proguanil Anti-malaria tablets. Five weeks will fly by.

See you soon.

Hi there
Have you seen the weather forcast?
As long as we all take waterproofs i'm sure we'll be fine. Seems like Nepal is having an extended monsoon.
We did our last minute shop yesterday, came home and packed. Weighed, took things out and repacked.
Our holdall now weighs 15 kg.Still think it might be a bit over packed.8-[
This is also our first time, but really looking forward to the adventure.

Hello both,

Glad you have got your visas all sorted thought I would get mine on arrival.

Travelling on my todd but also flying out from heathrow shame we will not be able to make the most the duty free!

Just back from a fab few days in the lake district, added a fair few miles to the old legs in preparation!

Looking forward to a fab adventure.

Just five weeks and counting :)

Glad to hear you got your visas all sorted. Off to get the last of my injections tomorrow. Are you going to take malaria tablets?
I am down in not so sunny Cardiff, whatever happened to the summer.
Would be great to meet up at Heathrow.

Take care Kirsty

Hi both,

Likewise I have opted against having the rabies and Japanese Encephalitis vaccinations. I have the same anti-malaria combo ready to go hoping the side effects aren't too bad, heard you can have some 'interesting' dreams.

Now stocking up on pain killers, insect repellent and hopefully not to be used diarrhoea relief tablets. This could all make travelling light a challenge :)

Hello All,

Just checked out the weather myself - not looking good but at least we are used to the rain given the weather we have had recently!

Very impressed that you have already done your packing Diane. I have made a start - just picking up some final bits and pieces. Similarly this is my first trip of this kind so not 100% sure exactly what I will need but yes waterproofs are top of the list.

Take care and looking forward to meeting you all.

Hey Ian & Diane, and hello to Kirsty.

My good friend Arlene is coming with me also. She's the one that told me all about this trip. We both live in London, so not too far to travel to Heathrow, hopefully we'll see you at the airport.

Have you guys ever done anything like this before? This will be our first time doing something like this, so I hope we have everything that we need.....it's hard to know what to bring!!! We're just off to the shops now for some last minute shopping.

Adios

Jon.

Hello fellow travellers,
It's nice to see that you're all as disorganised as me. I'm sure I'll wake up thursday morning convinced that i'm meant to be going somewhere.
I'm travelling on my own so i look forward to catching up with you all.
Paul
