Sail the Merry Seas
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” Mark Twain
Sailing is an adventure unlike any other. Sailing gives you a different perspective, lets you get closer to marine life and gives you access to areas otherwise inaccessible. Our new family sailing adventures give your family the chance to explore hidden coves in the Caribbean, glide around the beautiful Amalfi coast or drop anchor in Thailand's exciting archipelago. Do as little or as much as you like, help the Skipper and learn the ropes, or sit back on deck and watch your children delight in life at sea.
Life on Board
Daily life onboard one of our sailing trips is relaxed with days spent swimming and snorkelling, exploring secluded beaches and whatever else takes the group’s fancy. We normally dock in the afternoon where there is opportunity to regain your land legs with a little discovering of the area and in the evenings we head out to dinner before returning to the boat to be gently rocked to sleep by the lapping waves.
There is a 60 euros per person food kitty that needs to be paid on arrival. The group will then head to a supermarket to buy provisions for daily breakfasts and lunches for the trip. It is up to the group to make their own breakfast and lunches using the provisions provided which helps to bond the group and add to the community feel on board the yacht
No experience required
If you'd like to take the ropes then the crew will show you how. If not, simply relax on deck and soak up the sun and gentle ocean breezes.
Typically we use monohull sailing boats in Europe and the Caribbean, and multihull catamarans in Thailand. Our family sailing trips are accommodated entirely on board a yacht of up to 44ft. A typical 44ft yacht for 8 travellers is equipped with 4 twin/double share cabins, 2 shared bathrooms and 2 showers. Our boats are real yachts and this is a real sailing trip. Yachts are designed to keep sleeping areas to the absolute minimum of space, while maximising common areas as much as possible. Smaller yachts will be used for smaller groups sizes. Rooms are allocated on arrival by our skipper according to group composition, which means it is not possible to reserve or guarantee any specific berth or cabin. Everyone including the skipper shares the bathrooms on board. While not everyone may feel entirely comfortable living in such close quarters, those who are looking to revel in the adventure and exhilaration of an authentic sailing trip usually find any discomfort from cramped living conditions is more than made up for by the whole experience. Check out the typical yacht floor plan below, purple areas are sleeping berths and yellow are bathrooms.
