Magical Morocco

The sure-footed mules into the moutains above Ourika were amazing. The view from on top was outstanding

We needed a bit more information about taking cash into the mountains and the lack of banks & CC facility at the hotel meant two families had to borrow cash from the third to pay the hotel extras bill.

A well-paced trip for all concerned

There was little hot water in two of the three hotels & the pools were FREEZING

Zaid was helpful, charming and not intrusive.  He could have engaged a bit more with the group as we would have appreciated some choice with restaurants.  These were generally well-chosen, but slightly soulless as we were sometimes the only people there.

Journey along the Kings Highway

We have just come back from a trip to Jordan (The King's Highway) and we really wanted to say how excellent our guide, Iayd, was and we wanted to recommend him for use by you/your clients in the future. He was just amazing. Nothing was too much trouble and he was so good with all the children. His historical knowledge was execllent and he went out of his way to ensure that we saw eveything there was to see. He has made the trip so memorable for my children. A big big thank you.

[Comments on itinerary] Spending a half day at the Dead sea and making a trip out to the desert castles would have been a better use of time for us

The hotel in Amman was the least good of the ones we stayed in. It was very noisy and the rooms reaked of smoking.

The playing of loud music at 2. 30 am (being played from Reception) in the hotel at the Dead sea also was a low point

As mentioned above, our group leader Iayd, was exceptional and we would highly recommend that he is used by you again. (It was his first time working with Travco, although he has been a guide for over 20 years and was Hilary Clinton's personal guide during her visit as First Lady.) Everthing about him was amazing: his historical knowledge; the way he got us to places always just ahead of everyone else; his ability to keep the children fuly engagaed (he had been a teacher which showed); his helpfulness in booking additional excursions. We can't speak highly enough of him. He really made the trip.

Wonders of the Nile

Fantastic trip overall made all the more special by our excellent Tour Guide Medo who was a top guy.He was thoughtful in his care of us and keen to display his knowledge in an interesting way for the children and adults alike.
Very difficult to identify highlights but felucca, snorkelling and sleeper train experience were very special and a great balance to all the historical sights.

We did not like the hotel in Aswan which was situated in the middle of a bulding site.

Although hotel in Hurghada was 4*and in a good location it was very large and the food was of poor quality. We would have preferred something more like the one in Luxor.
As previously mentioned we did not like the hotel in Aswan and there were problems in several of the rooms.
Hotel in Cairo was good and the one in Luxor lovely.
Felucca was great and sleeper train accomodation good.

Feluccas & Pharaohs - Family Holiday

Our guide, Maged, was excellent - both for information and organisation and when entertaining the kids in the pool.

The hotel in Cairo was not a pleasant place to stay: rowdy, smoky and a bit of a waste of time.

Cut out the return to Cairo for one night at the end: it means two airport transfers for one night in a hotel which was not up to much. The time would be better spent at Aswan or Hurghada.

Feluccas & Pharaohs - Family Holiday

The felucca trip was a wonderful, relaxing interlude in a fast paced itinerary, and a chance to get to know other families. The Red Sea boat trip was our very favourite activity. The Nubian Village meal was also a highlight. The care and service we had from Sun Boat travel was fantastic, with special thanks to Magid, our tour guide.

The last day in Cairo is really a waste of a day. If the itinerary could be arranged to fly back from Hurghada, it would avoid 2 very early mornings and 2 trips through the Cairo traffic. Also, we needed another day in Aswan to recover from the train. Everyone on the trip was too tired to do the Philae temple excursion. The low points were the lack of sleep due to late evenings and early starts, and the hotel in Cairo which was noisy and unsafe.

For the brochure, we would rate the trip as moderate paced, not easy, and for 7+, not 5. It would be worth mentioning that a wet suit is recommended for smaller children as the Red Sea is quite cold in April, and it did seem a bit mean to make us pay for a sleeping bag on the felucca, as no other bedding was provided, and it was necessary.

Aswan piramisa, excellent. Luxor Iberotel excellent. Hurghada Piramisa above expectation, Cairo piramisa standard fine, but noisy and full of groups of young men roaming about. Didn't feel very secure there. Overnight train got a negative review from our family! we didn't know what to expect, but I wish I had, so I could have prepared the children better.

Magid was brilliant

Everest Teen Trek

Visiting Chitwan National Park. Seeing Everest. Meeting people along the way.

[Least enjoyed] Travel - plane/coach travel. Quite a bit of waiting in country for flights and the road trip was long and not the safest experience.

Local guides excellent. Quality of local hotels and lodges less so but may be difficult to do anything about that. Not expecting or needing luxury but travelling with children happier with cleaner lodges. Some problems with hotel bookings in Kathmandu. Lodges on trek OK but found the toilet facilities sometimes a bit hard work. Hotels in Chitwan excellent.

Adventure Company could strongly encourage people to bring their own water bottles and sterlisation tablets. This would avoid having to buy water in plastic bottles which are then discarded creating more waste plastic than is necessary.

Very pleasant and helpful

Himalayan Adventure

The whole cultural experience was excellent, brought together by an excellent and talented trip guide. The friendliness of the Nepalese people is remarkable and very welcoming.

[Least enjoyed] Not knowing who was not an adventure company member when being greeted at the airport.
The misty visibility obscuring the mountain views was disappointing.

The varied means of transport made it exciting.
The trekking through villages was the best way to get a feel of the local peoples as they were so ready to talk about their lives.
The guide was so apt at keeping the group positive and together when one member was struggling.

The accommodation is suitably pitched to provide you with a real experience of what its like in the real Nepal, in both the towns and the countryside, authentic.

It was fantastic to see in the villages a plaque acknowledging where the charity support money had come from . It is lovely to think that our tourist money is helping support the local staff and business because the adventure company use local people and they are grateful for it.

kush is an exceptional young man, he is a credit not only to the Adventure company and Himalayan adventures but as an ambassador to Nepal. He has the ability to keep the group together and inspired when flagging, to make every one feel special both child and adult. He entertains the kids and inspires the adults with local knowledge. He understand s what he is doing with tourists will enhance the lives of his local village people. Excellent and thank you for making our trip a life changes experience.

The trek - which could have benefitted from being another day longer. The efficiency of all staff on the trip - especially the porters and kitchen staff whilst trekking - how do they manage to cook a three course meal at 1400ft?

[Least enjoyed] Too many people were booked on the trip - the brochure states maximum of 16 where as there were 18 on our trip. This was too many, especially when it came to squeezing on the bus and seating at restaurants. I feel we should have been consulted regarding the extra people

The hotel in the first and last two nights was not in the h otel it was supposed to be due to refurbishment. This was not really explained to us, the Hotel we did stay at however was adequate

Kush was superb! The children in the group adored him, he was efficient at all times, and always had a smile on his face. When my son became ill, he was immediately at hand with first aid remedies and ensured his well being.

The madness of Kathmandu
Walking through rice fields on the trek
Seeing rhinos from the back of an elephant
Talking with Buddhist monks

We were given too little time to explore places like Bodhnath on our own

We were expecting to rough it a bit, so the accommodation was overall better than anticipated

Our group leader was truly outstanding, and contributed hugely to making the trip so enjoyable. I cannot praise him enough

Herculaneum was fantastically preserved and our guide really brought it to life.
Our Group Leader Davide always went the extra mile and managed to arrange with a restaurant owner a football game for his family versus Dads and Lads on an astro turf pitch which was in a walled garden of a church with fabulous views over Sorrento. This wasn't on the itinerary but will certainly be remembered along with the other trip highlights of Vesuvius and Pompei.

Naples itself is pretty grubby and intimidating when walking at night with kids.
The itinerary which we had booked changed without prior notification which was very disappointing i.e. - we were not staying on a farm in Sorrento just apartments .Plus the website said there was a pool in the hotel at Capri which we thought would be great for kids after dragging them round museums and ruins. They were so disappointed when the hotel didn't have this after getting excited with the other kids about swimming/water polo. You really need to sort this out as we had a similar experience in Kenya last year when we were meant to be staying in a camp and ended up in another lodge.

Our Group Leader Davide was a real star. He always went the extra mile and he really made the trip.
He was obviously embarrassed that the holiday expectations for all families had been changed and organised extra thing such as football games etc for the kids. He was knowledgeable, fun and a fantastic organiser.
If he had not been there I think there could have potentially have been a mutiny.
He deserves a medal.
