Feluccas & Pharaohs - Family Holiday

Our Guide was exceptional and the overall party composite excellent.  We had a wonderful trip and have recommended your company many times.

[Comments on Accommodation] We were on an adventure holiday so therefore did not expect top notch accommodation.

Ned was excellent and very accommodating.  An asset to your company

Active Pyrenees - Family Holiday

The quality of the guides and the activities they had put together really made the trip. It was pitched at just  the right level with options that allowed the more adventurous to push themselves while allowing the less adventurous to still enjoy themselves.

The whole trip was great and one of the best family holidays we have been on.

While the Hotel was small, Nick and his team are really friendly and welcoming and made for a very enjoyable holiday.

Nick and Stuart were outstanding and really made the holiday enjoyable. Their knowledge of the area was great and the activities were great fun. They were also excellent with the children

Active Pyrenees - Family Holiday

The scenery and the activities were fantastic although the good weather helped.

We were staying in the same hotel all week and I found the breakfast selection was very limited and of poor quality. Most of my family just had bread and cheese for breakfast as the cereal and fruit juice was awful. Evening meals were OK for adults but not great for the children. Beds were OK but there was a lot of external noise keeping us awake. Packed lunches were good but we had them every day and we were not told that on some days we would be sitting next to a local restaurant which would have been nice to try.

The local guides were absolutely fantastic and Stuart was brilliant with the kids. They really enjoyed their days out with him. They said the highlight was the 4WD trip through the mountains. The guides were also very patient with the slowest cyclists (me!)

Our guide Elisabeth was outstanding and made the trip quite magical for my grandchildren. Can't praise her enough!

A brilliant itinerary

As I said earlier, Elisabeth made our holiday. She was outstanding in her attention to detail, local knowledge, friendliness and fun. We all loved her.

Saharan Sands - Family holiday

Our tour guide was excellent - knowledgeable and helpful and fun.  Visiting the desert was the highlight of the trip - magical.  The chef who travelled with us was wonderful, producing amazing meals in tough environments - everyone ate very well!  We wish he'd come with us to Marrakesh.

[Least enjoyed] The campsite in the village near the desert, we expected to be in the desert not in a village for the camping.  The bins had not been emptied while we were away in the desert!  The restaurants in Marrakesh were very slow and relatively expensive with average quality food.

We would have liked to have more nights in the desert, the camping was fun and more what we were expecting than the campsite in the village.

The hotels were simple, basic accommodation.  The location of the hotel in Marrakesh was disappointing as it was a long walk to the centre.

He was a great facilitator for the trip, ensuring that we all got a lot out of the trip.  The kids loved him!  He was helpful and supportive throughout the trip.

Kids in the Kasbahs

The drive over the Atlas pass was spectacular, Essaouira was lovely and Marrakech was a pretty amazing experience.

Slimman was great - patient, knowledgable and very efficient.  He is a lovely man.

I think Agadir was a mistake, I realise it was necessary as a pit stop, but there must be more interesting places to visit in that area. I think a side trip down one of the back roads to an quirky little hotel would have been much better. I recommend long trousers for the camel/donkey/horse/quad biking!

Serengeti Safari - Family Holiday

From the moment we set foot in Tanzania we were bombarded with sights that we will never forget. From the people going about everyday life in the roadside villages, to the colourful Maasi and huge numbers of animals, it was a non-stop delight.

The highlights for us were hearing the trumpeting of elephants during a squabble (so loud it went through you!), lion cubs catching each others tails, the sight of thousands of wildebeest and zebras migrating across the Serengeti, hippos pools with crocodiles swimming amongst them. All that with amazing accommodation and food throughout.

Our 12 year old loved the two nights camping, although with lions roaring outside at night I was pleased to get back the lodges again! At every place we stayed it was clean and welcoming. The swimming pools were a bonus, and the views from two of our lodges stay were incredible.

The guides from Tropical Trails, Wilson and Ole,  were outstanding throughout. Wilson spotted animal tracks in the road and even jumped out to pick up a porcupine quill from the roadside for the girls to see and show them the whistling acacia. They looked after us from beginning to end and just when we thought things couldn't get any better they would show us another sight to blow us away.

For the first time ever I was sad to leave and come home, and my husband (who was not the most enthusiastic at the thought of this particular holiday!) hasn't stopped telling everyone what an incredible trip it was.

Migration means that the plains of the serengeti can be quite empty in places, so choose carefully the time of year that you travel. If buying souvenirs on a budget be aware that the Maasi villages are a very expensive place to buy them - unless you are really good at hard bargaining! You do not need much spending money - tips and drinks in the evening are the only essentials.

Tunisian Voyager

Camel ride and camping in the Sahara. El Djem, in particular the museum with its fantistic mozaics. Having a Tunisian guide who told us so much about her country.

Pity we didn't sleep in a genuine bedouin tent - conditions too windy. Log-jam at Enfidha airport on arrival, but this is more to do with airline scheduling of arrivals at the airport.

In many places recycling was not an option as facilities were not available. However, the staff tried wherever possible to minimise their impact as we went round, for example in the desert not leaving rubbish in our wake.

Sonia was excellent, paying particular attention to the needs of my daughther which is how it should be, and to the health and safety of the camel ride. Her knowledge of Tunisia, it's people and history was remarkable.
