Visit the 12th century UNESCO site of Kotor, tucked away on one of South Eastern Europe’s largest fjords, it’s fortifications to this day protecting beautiful palaces, tranquil squares and impressive religious buildings. Explore Cetinje, the ancient capital of Montenegro, at the foot of Lovcen Mountain and housing more museums and heritage sites than any other city in the country and visit the sacred Ostrog Monastery, intricately carved into a rising rock face.
The natural landscape of holidays in Montenegro is fantastic, and the rugged Durmitor National Park is full of impressive peaks, isolated mountain lakes and deep canyons and is a great region to discover on foot. A walk exploring the various lakes of the Zabljak Plateau is a great chance to stretch your legs, following wooded trails and paths lined with endemic species of flower and wild herbs.
