Adventures in France
Travelling on an organised tour is a great alternative to solo holidays. When holidaying close to home, French adventure holidays are often enjoyed by solo travellers but there is so much more you can do when travelling as part of a small group tour.
For those looking for walking and trekking holidays in France, discover the highlights of the beautiful Mont Blanc region with spectacular guided walks in the shadow of the highest mountain in Western Europe. Exploring on foot, you will encounter awe-inspiring mountain scenery with dramatic views of Mont Blanc itself (4810 metres) as well as beautiful alpine pastures and woodlands, magnificent lakes and imposing glaciers.
The Mont Blanc massif straddles the borders of France, Italy and Switzerland, but there are also plenty of other attractions including walks to Col de La Fenêtre, Lac de Pormenaz and the Tour Glacier. The Alpine flowers add a splash of colour, and if you keep your eyes open you should spot marmots and maybe something bigger.
Travellers after more leisurely activity holidays in France can explore one of the most interesting waterways, canoeing in the Dordogne. Feel your troubles slip away with the water, as the picturesque French countryside slides past and you canoe through the walnut groves and truffle woods of the Périgord. There will be many sightseeing opportunities as you paddle downstream past magnificent and imposing chateaux, centuries-old villages and world-famous prehistoric sites. The places we stop off en-route also offer plenty of diversions: at Carennac, try the local aperitif and from St Sozy get to visit the amazing cliff-clinging town of Rocamadour.
