SOS Children's villages escape to Pilanesberg NP on the 13-15 of January 2012

By donating 5$ on each booking for all our South African trips, towards SOS Children's villages, we allow local disadvantaged children to get to see the wildlife on their doorstep at Pilanesberg National Park.

This is a great opportunity to educate them about conservation issues and threat, while ensuring they have a great and inspiring escape from their every day life.

Week-end of 13-15th January safari experience in Pilanesberg NP

Johannesburg to the Cape, 3 Nov 2011

Using my daypack as a pillow and the thick, mown lawn as a mat, I lie down in the warm sun to while away fifteen minutes and reflect on the past eighteen days. I hear the gentle lapping of waves up against the harbour wall, and the low hum of friends talking on the grass nearby, with an occasional interlude of laughter. I look up, and see four groups of uniformed work colleagues, laughing and joking with each other on their lunch breaks. To their right, the water in the harbour gently rolls and shimmers as it reflects the bright sunshine.

Scenic Vietnam

This trip is a great introduction to Vietnam for first timers to the country. You get to experience many wonderful ‘must see’ locations and there’s opportunity to get off the beaten track and experience rural Vietnam too.

Train travel is a big part of this trip with two overnight journeys and one day train on the Reunification Express. It’s a fun, adventurous way to see a lot of the country.

Don't be afraid to stray from the beaten path in Peru

Anywhere you go in the world, there tends to be a well trodden path created by many tourists who have visited the most famous landmarks over the years. This is no different in Peru. People who take Peru holidays usually start off in Lima, which is a fascinating and culturally rich city in itself, before heading to Cusco, which is also an extremely appealing destination. Then it is on to Machu Picchu, either by train or via the Inca Trail.

Diverse Morocco is the ideal family holiday destination

Selecting a family holiday can be a tricky business if you have children who are still toddling around. As a keen explorer, I had always wanted to visit Morocco in order to scale the picturesque Atlas Mountains but I thought my chances were gone once I started to raise a young family. However, I managed to find a trip that not only gave us the opportunity to head to the fascinating north African country together, but also included a number of child-friendly excursions that would enable us to see various different parts of the nation.

My Tibetan Holiday - a day by day account

Day1/2

Overnight flight to Kathmandu

Day 3 Kathmandu

On arrival in Kathmandu we transferred to the lovely Hotel Tibet. After a briefing from the Guide the evening was free so a group of us opted for dinner in a nearby restaurant.

A meal for 6 which included a drink and main course with some shared starters worked out at £28 between us (550 rupees per person). Evening entertainment was experiencing an Earthquake! (8.6 on the Richter scale). The floor moved but fortunately nothing was broken.

KR Kilimanjaro Rongai Route 10/02/2011

Hi there, is anyone else going on the Kilimanjaro Rongai Trek leaving 10 February 2012?  Interested in finding out who else is going and how preparations and training are coming along.  Cheers, Kenny.

Winter Family Holiday in Andorra, one of Europe's Best Kept Secrets

Tucked away in between France and Spain, the tiny principality of Andorra must surely be one of Europe's best kept secrets. The fact the country doesn't even have its own airport could mean the fascinating skiing destination often flies under the radar of less experienced winter sports enthusiasts. However, for those who have sampled the pistes of numerous different locations around the world, Andorra is a stand-out resort.
