Is it safe to travel to Egypt?
Following demonstrations in Cairo and other parts of Egypt, and the news that President Mohammed Morsi has been removed from power, you may be wondering if it is still safe to travel to Egypt - especially if you have booked a trip to Egypt that departs in the next few weeks.
Currently, the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) is advising against non-essential travel to Cairo and other affected areas, but it is not currently advising against travel to the Red Sea resorts and Southern Sinai, which are considered safe to travel to.
If you have already booked a trip to Egypt
If you are travelling to the Red Sea resorts and Southern Sinai, for example on The Adventure Company's Desert & Reef or Active in the Sinai trips, it is likely that your holiday should be able to go ahead as scheduled. If you are travelling to Cairo or Luxor within the next few weeks, your trip may be affected.
The Adventure Company follows the guidance issued by the FCO and is closely monitoring developments in conjunction with our local office in Cairo, who have up to the minute information on the situation. We take all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of our passengers, tour leaders and local operators, and if necessary we will re-route itineraries to avoid areas where there is unrest, or may cancel departures.
If your holiday is affected, The Adventure Company will contact you to discuss options with you.
