Inca trail 2010

This was my second trip with the Adventure Company and i decided to go further affield and visit a place i had only dreamed of seeing." Machu Picchu".

Cusco was a bustling place and a hive of activity. I recommend a trip to the local market to buy hats and gifts, and paddys bar is good for a few beers! Our guide was very friendly and helpful, and had a very good knowledge of her country.

The Inca Trail itself was a challenging trek and something i will always remember. Reaching the top of dead Womens pass and taking on the last climb to the Sun Gate are all things that will stay with me forever. Standing at the sun gate and looking at machu Picchu for the fist time was an amazing experience.

The cook and porters were brilliant as usual and having a bowl of warm water to wash tired feet in at the end of the day was lovely. A cup of tea or coffee in the morning brought to your tent before breakfast was very nice.

Peru is a lovely place and Machu picchu really is one of the wonders of the world. So what are you waiting for. get your boots on and get walking :)

Bring on next year and the next trip!
