Lands of the Mekong

This trip is a great introduction to S.E. Asia, and was a wonderful way to celebrate Christmas and New Year! It starts and finishes in Thailand, and takes in seldom-visited Laos and Cambodia, a country that dominated the news bulletins in my youth. It was fascinating to sail down the Mekong, which is totally devoid of wildlife, and to see day to day life on its banks. Luang Prabang is delightful, with lots to see and do, and the trek and homestay we did over Christmas, introducing the Lao to the delights of Christmas Cake!

Desert Adventure

This was my first trip with the Adventure company and i loved every moment of the trip.

Our guide, cook, camel drivers were all fantastic and nothing was to much trouble. Tea on top of a sand dune to watch the sun go down in the Sahara . The sound of camels milling around the tent in the early morning and traditional song and dance in the desert night are all things i will remember.

Being able to walk or ride was nice but be warned if you walk a sand dune section as its hard going!!

Ait Benhaddau was a great place to visit and what a view from the top!

Try a canoe holiday in Croatia

Essentially a water based holiday, and a fabulous experience. Having been left to fend for ourselves whilst my husband and 2 other sons went off on a Scout trip, myself and our youngest boy decided to go and have our own adventure.
Being only 2 in a group of 14 was no problem as the other 3 families were very welcoming and friendly, and the overall group size worked very well.

Costa Rica Adventure Holiday: My Experience

The Costa Rica adventure holiday was my first with the Adventure Company - it was so well organised, our Guide Denis was fabulous - his knowledge and enthusiasm was second to none. My expectations were greatly exceeded, Denis spotted so much wildlife - I wouldn't have seen any of it if it wasn't for his finely tuned eye sight. The rainforest was amazing, the rafting on the Pacura river was out of this world - so much to see, and very exhilarating! It made my decade seeing Two and Three-Toed Sloth's. The diversity of flora and fauna was truly breathtaking.

Our Slovakian winter adventure started with an early flight from Heathrow, and after getting a bit lost in Warsaw airport we arrived in Krakow, greeted by our lovely friendly guide Lucia. The rest of the day was taken up travelling to our base for the week, a lovely family run pension in the beautiful village of Zuberec. We were relieved to see plenty of snow on the ground, our week of winter fun had begun!

Kyrenia Trails

Day 1

Arriving after a comfortable flight with Cyprus Airlines we were met and driven to our hotel about an hour away. The comfortable hotel with 2 great swimming pools was a welcome sight at the end of our journey. After being met by our Group Leader, Roz, with a drink and a short introduction to Cyprus and the week ahead, we had time to unpack and freshen up before getting to know the rest of our group over a relaxed dinner.

Day 2

Delhi to Kathmandu

The only way to describe the Delhi to Kathmandu trip is as an action packed journey through India and Nepal and something akin to a `Planes, Trains and Automobiles`, with the odd Ox cart, Elephant, rickshaw, dug out boat and light aircraft thrown in for fun!

Delhi
Having arrived into Delhi airport at 5am we said a quick hello to the rest of the group and headed off for a few hours rest before formal introductions to Abhi our tour leader (and soon to be friend) and other members of the group.

Into the Okavango

One, coming from the UK, being in environment dominated by the animal kingdom truly turned my world upside down. We live in such a populated island, the only wildlife we see on a regular basis are birds – well the last few days certainly turned that on it’s head…everything had a place and purpose, the whole environment was the result of thousands of years evolution; perfectly symbiotic. The Okavango Delta is large enough for natural migration patterns which not many other places can provide nowadays.

Amazing Botswana

I was lucky enough to have just done part of the Delta to Victoria trip (trip code BS); spending two days in the Delta and two days in Moremi National Park and there are two over riding & life changing aspects I took out from the experience, which I'd like to share. One, coming from the UK, being in environment dominated by the animal kingdom truly turned my world upside down.

Feluccas & Pharaohs

Wow Egypt, not bad I thought for my second trip abroad. I was going with my Mum, Rachel, Jack my cousin and David, so not perfect as David is a bit mad! I am Tom, aged 10 when we went in August 2007.

One of my favourite parts of the holiday was the felucca boat trip down the River Nile, mainly because all the kids were on one boat and the adults on another. We all got on really well and played cards, gambling for M&M sweets. Cool!
