Claire Wilson
Managing Director
I started out as a teacher, but have always loved to travel and was drawn to the business with itchy feet after having my son. These days work at The Adventure Company pretty much takes over my life! No two days are the same and we’re always trying to improve and grow. Walking in the shoes' of our customers is very important to me, so in the five years I've been with The Adventure Company I’ve travelled thousands of miles - from Europe to Tahiti. It’s a great perk to the job, as you can see from some of my images below from my recent visits to China, Slovakia, Sri Lanka and French Polynesia.
Being a Mum as well as a Managing Director, I’m always chasing that perfect work/life balance. I’m lucky as I've been able to travel with my family and my teenage son has learnt a lot (and had a ball!) from seeing different places and peoples. One of our best family holidays was a safari - kids and animals always seem to be a winning combination!
It’s no surprise then that one of the things I'm passionate about is our Family Adventure programme. We came up with the concept of making family holidays more exciting and we’re constantly visiting new destinations and brainstorming new ways to create even better adventures.
We've also introduced a range of specialist astronomy trips, developed together with our sister company Explorers Astronomy Tours. I was lucky to experience a Total Solar Eclipse on the South Pacific Atoll of Hao this summer and was blown away by the spectacle!
Whichever holiday you choose, I sincerely hope you'll have a great experience with us - as a small company it matters greatly to us that our customers choose to pass on positive word of mouth to friends and relatives. Though we like to keep our service friendly and personal, it's also really reassuring to know there's the added security of us being part of TUI Travel PLC, a world class travel and leisure company.
