March 2008: The Adventure Company, small group specialist and pioneer of the family adventure holiday, has promoted Vicky Gallear from Marketing Executive to the newly created role of UK Agency Sales Manager with immediate effect.

Vicky joined The Adventure Company in 2006 from a marketing role at South Downs College in Portsmouth where she worked for two years.  Prior to joining the college she played an integral assistant role in the marketing department for the Blue Reef Aquarium, also in Portsmouth, named Tourism South East Visitor Attraction of the Year during her term there.

Managing Director Claire Wilson said: ‘we have created this position specifically to develop a stronger and more pro-active relationship with the travel trade industry and travel agents in particular.  In Vicky we have a young, intelligent executive who will manage our agency sales with an efficiency and enthusiasm that is sure to drive business through the trade.’

Vicky graduated from the University of Wolverhampton in 1999 with a degree in Media & Communications.  She then spent 14 months travelling the USA and Australia working in a diverse range of jobs from building, programming and racing Mindstorm Robots at a LEGO Exhibition on the Gold Coast to administration assistant for The Leading Hotels of the World in Sydney.

Her role at The Adventure Company is, she says, her dream job combining a marketing career with her passion for travel.
