My passion for small group adventure holidays lead me in the direction of The Adventure Company in 2002. I enjoyed taking part in this type of holiday, so why not work behind the scenes as well? In the marketing department I get involved in all sorts of projects including the production of the brochures and dossiers plus various newsletters and other direct mail pieces. It’s great being immersed in all things travel all day long and the icing on the cake is getting to do one of our trips each year. So far I’ve been to New Zealand, Iceland, South Africa and Madagascar. Next up is trekking in India; I can’t wait. I’ve also chosen to go on our trips to Peru and Namibia/Botswana. It’s hard to choose a favourite. Every trip is different and every group is different. You can’t beat Africa for getting up close to amazing wildlife but walking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu in Peru provided a marvellous sense of achievement.

Botswana’s Okavango Delta was simply amazing and has to be a travel highlight. Travelling by mokoro through channels lined with papyrus reeds and over water lily filled lakes was an incredible experience. There were birds everywhere and every now and then we’d come across a pod of basking hippos. It was thrilling to lie in my tent at night listening to the sounds of frogs calling and hippos ‘laughing’ in the distance. The world is truly an amazing place and I feel very privileged to have seen so many wondrous places.
