Before joining The Adventure Company I was lucky enough to travel on several of our trips. They were brilliant memorable holidays, so I was delighted to get the opportunity to work here. I love mixing my passion for travel with a love of history and culture. Many of the places I have visited have fascinating histories, and seeing these places in the flesh was thrilling. Unforgettable sights include the early morning mist curling around the Mayan temples in Palenque, the first sight of the Taj Mahal in the pink dawn light, and the island temple of Philae at sunset near Aswan. I also love deserts and the Namib Desert is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. Wild camping whilst listening to elephants trumpeting in the background, or sleeping under the stars in the Thar Desert with camels snorting in the distance, are memories that will live with me forever.
Probably the most extraordinary place that I have visited is Madagascar, the lemurs are wonderful, but there is so much more to it than that. The people are so friendly, the landscape is stunning and ever-changing, rainforests, mountains, deserts and the beach. The Indri lemurs in Perinet National Park filled the forest with an extraordinary sound that resembles a whale cry, and they were one of the highlights of my trip.
I relish the challenge of an adventure and I am an adrenalin junkie, so if it’s sky diving, paragliding or quad biking, bring it on! I love small group tours as you meet so many like-minded people, and sharing the experience can really bond you all together. I have remained friends with lots of people from these trips, and the people you meet can be as much of a highlight as the places you see.
